The Lincoln Lawyer
While not his first time starring as a lawyer, Matthew McConaughey again stars wonderfully as a slick criminal defense attorney who works out of the back of his Lincoln Continental in the latest legal drama to hit the big screen, graced with the charismatic beauty of Melissa Tomei as his antagonistic and separated lawyer wife, in the best criminal law court room movie I can recall sine Find Me Guilty – with more than enough twists and turns you won’t see coming to keep you engaged. OK for watching Mom & Dad but not for my children when 15 or younger - with soft but sex scenes, innuendo, court dialog about prostitutes behaviors, drinking and myriad other indulgent behaviors and some violence. Definitely going into my DVD collection.
Limitless
…is a fun thriller about a drug that makes you a genius. We’d all like a drug like NZT. Limitless is brisk paced – a fanciful, suspenseful thriller – Not for my children when 14 or under, and probably OK with Mom & Dad as long as the youngsters are in bed. There are scenes where Robert DeNiro reminds you why he’s the living legend that he his – his persona in the role fills and takes over the screen. The movie is not terrifically great, but it is entertaining and a good afternoon at the movies overall IMO.
