Maybe his role ever here, but it’s still long way from Mayberry.

I personally feel that So You Think You Can Dance is the best, hottest, most fun entertainment to ever air on TV. Just sayin…

Jurassic Park 4 Is Happening
This is not a joke! Universal Pictures has hired Rise of the Planet of the Apes screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver to write the script for Jurassic Park 4. Spielberg won’t direct it but he is going to be on the production team.
The previous 3 movies - the first two directed by Spielberg--have grossed $1.9 billion worldwide. Just give us the dinosaurs!

Ray Bradbury RIP
Ray Bradbury, the legendary science fiction and fantasy author behind classic novels such as The Martian Chronicles and Fahrenheit 451, has died. First Sci Fi book I remember reading in my life was Fahrenheit 451. Mr. Bradbury was 91.

Men in Black 3…
… was a long time in coming, but worth the wait to learn what we learn about J and K. Somehow the movie realizes we’ve aged with it, and J and K seem timeless though the time continuum shifts while the special effects – although some with dizzying heights, were spot on while combined with the authentic 60’s car scenes, attire, and retro parties from days gone by - all combined to keep the large audience chuckling through many scenes. I enjoyed this addition to the series – it was fun and a little heart warming. OK for my kids when they 13 or older, and for Mom & Dad too on family movie night if they are inclined to watched SciFi. Overall a 7 out of 10, a good hot summer afternoon diversion.

Jackie Chan Retiring
Jackie Chan, legendary martial artist and action film star, is retiring. Chan is 58 and says he’s too old to continue doing stunts and the world is “too violent”.
His upcoming Chinese Zodiac, Chan’s 100th film, will be his last big action outing. He does hope to continue acting, however. He plans to take on more serious roles in future projects.

Avengers
The best movie made from a Marvel comic book? Avengers! The Avengers kicks some serious ass, no pun intended. This is a smashingly good movie. +10 out of 10 for your entertainment expense. No surprise - it killed box office records when it opened! Good character development, story, dialog, pace, and enough special effects to make you go “Wow!” Safe for my boys when they were 13 or older, though Mom & Dad won’t be as interested if they don’t know comic books nor like Sci Fi, but this is premiere family entertainment you will enjoy too.

The Campaign
Will Ferrell, Seth Galifianakis, John Lithgow and Dan Akroyd are all in this one. Wow. Looks like could be prime political satire if it’s really in the works!

Skyfall: James Bond # 24
Skyfall is still six months out and already Columbia Pictures has confirmed that the 24th entry in the James Bond franchise is in the works and slated for a 2014 release. However, Daniel Craig may not reprise the role of 007 in the as-yet untitled film. He was only contracted for three James Bond films, so he has the option of walking away.
In related news, we can expect a debut trailer for Skyfall in the very near future.

Safe House
Tobin Frost (Denzel) is a professional killer and a Most Wanted traitor selling anything to anyone, and you’re really not sure of the source all the carnage and mayhem stems from other than an MI6 agent sold something to him in this spy-action-thriller. Good for at least a couple surprises at the end, including how well Ryan Reynolds plays his part to break out of his typical comic role. Denzel? Forever the consummate badass; outstanding in his role here! Safe House is a solid 7 out of 10 you can watch with your Mom & Dad, but I really wouldn’t call it family entertainment because it’s not for my children 13 or under due to the violence and bloodshed.

Chronicle
Mix one lonely, bullied and abused teen with a full cup of Sci-Fi-Origins-of-a- potential-Super-Hero flavoring, some actors you’ve never seen before, and Blair Witch-type videography - if this recipe appeals to you, you’ll enjoy Chronicle. I do not understand how out of 4 possible flicks for me to choose from to see today that this was the only one with any “pro” critic’s rating of 100. I give it a 5 out of 10. Some parts of this are brilliant but I neither seek nor desire a sequel. Half the theater laughed through a quarter the movie, and I definitely don’t think that was the original intent. And no, I didn’t think it was that funny either. Your Mom & Dad would probably largely see it as pointless, though I didn’t rate it lower because it is entertaining; I just wish, yes, I’d seen Safe House or Journey instead. OK for my kids when they were 14 or older. And no it won’t make it into my movie library.

The Bourne Legacy: now with Jeremy Renner!
The hugely popular espionage franchise has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office. Created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Finney, Allen, Strathairn and Glenn all reprise their roles.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine Sequel Confirmed
The Wolverine, a follow-up to 2009′s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is apparently a real thing that’s happening. It’s even got an official release date: July 26th, 2013. Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Logan, aka Wolverine.
James Mangold, director of the star-studded 2007 reboot of classic 3:10 to Yuma western, is directing. Christopher McQuarrie, author of The Usual Suspects, wrote the script.

Contraband
Contraband is a tense, hard driving nail-biting action thriller your Mom won’t like for the foul language. Dad would be OK with it because it’s a heist flick with twists and turns. Not recommend for a child 15 years of age or under. My rating: 5 out of 10. Nuff said.

Lucas Done With Star Wars Films?
If his statements during a recent interview with the New York Times are any indication, we’re not going to see any more Star Wars movies from George Lucas.
“Why would I make any more,” Lucas says of the “Star Wars” movies, “when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?”
Course he has a point honestly. He catches a lot of shit from fans whenever he tries to do anything new with the franchise in the way of film.

Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
8 out 10: good story, good execution, violent! A terse, dark, thrilling account of an investigation into a serial killer that flows well and reads like a book with varied imagery and description of killings, dialog that moves and a plot you won’t get ahead of to figure out whodunit. Some steamy sex scenes and some quite violent including bondage and a rape; the crimes would keep me from allowing my children 15 or 16 and under from seeing this, though Mom & Dad would love the story while I’d not be comfortable watching those steamy and violent scenes with my folks, so not a good family flick. Rooney Mara as Craig’s research assistant? Don’t know what else she’s been in, but she has the perfect edginess for her role in this and pulls it off really well.
